About the destination: Da Nang is one of the primary port cities in Vietnam and the largest city on the South Central Coast of Vietnam; the city is located on the coast of the Eastern Sea, at the mouth of the Hàn River. Da Nang serves as the commercial and educational hub of Central Vietnam, with a well-protected, easily accessible port; its position on National Route 1A and the North–South Railway makes it a central point for transportation and it is the third largest economic center in Vietnam. MAIN TOURIST ATTRACTIONS • Cham Museum. Established in 1915 by the French School of the Far East, it showcases a collection of stone sculptures from the Hindu-practicing Cham civilization, which inhabited much of central Vietnam from the first millennium AD until about the 14th century. • Marble Mountains. • Ba Na Hill Station. Ba Na was once a 1920's French resort that boasted 200 villas, restaurants, and clubs. Da Lat, situated in the highlands about 300km from the city, is worth the journey as there's plenty to see and do including waterfalls, gardens, the old French Quarter, and local restaurants serving fantastic local cuisine.
